Our Client:

Work for a well-established construction company who have a fantastic reputation and have delivered some high profile projects in WA. They are highly customer focused and bring innovation and high level consulting to their clients.

The Exciting Position:

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller or finance professional who is ready in their experience and skill level to step into a FC position.

On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Control the day to day activities of all the finance activities in the business – ensuring that the Finance Team (2 people) deliver best in class financial services to the business
  • Preparing monthly and annual management and financial reports, including providing analysis, insight and commentary to internal stakeholders, as well as presenting long-term financial forecasts relating to developing future strategies for the business
  • Provide strong leadership to coach, develop and mentor the finance team by setting and monitoring clear objectives
  • Support Leadership and Project Managers within the commercial business units providing financial guidance and advice where necessary
  • Provide high level critical analysis on financial results
  • Managing project and company cashflow
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Identifying efficiencies and improvements in operations to improve financial performance
  • Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts
  • Prepare and lodge the statutory tax obligations
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to achieve alignment with key business strategy
  • Coordinate the interim and end of financial year audits with the company’s external auditors

The Successful Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • Strong Accounting experience
  • Worked with ERP systems -MYOB Advance would be helpful but not essential
  • Great Excel skills
  • Strong exposure to Microsoft Suite and SharePoint
  • CPA or CA qualified
  • Must be hands-on and must be ready to help out your team wherever required during busy periods
  • Problem solving ability – able to gather all the information and find a good outcome
  • Excellent cash flow forecasting skills – mandatory
  • Creative Thinker – able to offer or find solutions to problems and show how they would be a benefit
  • Excellent financial control skills
  • Understands tax consequences
  • Must live North of the River
