Construction Stakeholder and Communications Advisor

We are searching Victoria for an experienced Community & Stakeholder Engagement Advisor with broad understanding of the civil and water construction industry in Australia. You will be responsible for planning and implementing community consultation and relations programs to ensure the ongoing relationships between landowners, neighbours, and local communities are positive.

Your day to day role will include:

  • Act as a point of contact and liaison with community and project teams
  • Prepare and implement communication plans
  • Engage with stakeholders, achieving a better understanding of objectives, managing concerns and providing advice
  • Coordinate media plan and manage releases
  • Coordinate meetings and briefings
  • Provide a rolling three-month forward program of all proposed communications
  • Develop communication strategies, responding to community and media inquiries
  • Management of events and social media
  • Liaising with stakeholders and clients
  • Develop as required CECPs

Skills and Experience

  • 2 years of Advisor level experience within Stakeholder and Community Relations
  • Trained under the IAP2 framework
  • Water Authority experience as a preference
  • A strong client focus, and excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence
  • Strong planning & organising ability and a penchant for problem solving
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with demonstrated commercial focus and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and strong conflict management skills
